Where you live says a lot more about you than you’d think, especially when it comes to your credit score.

Ask someone to pin point Australia’s most financially astute suburbs on a map and chances are Sydney's Point Piper or Toorak in Melbourne will get a mention.

It’s a fair assumption given the multi-million dollar homes you’re sure to find in these suburbs. But you know what they say about assumptions….

Veda, Australia’s leading credit bureau, have smashed the common belief that those with money, are best at managing it. How did they do this? It’s simple, rank the country’s best regions by credit score!

What exactly is a credit score?

Your credit score is a number between 0 – 1200. It’s used by banks to determine your ‘credit-worthiness’ – whether you are a low risk or high risk borrower – and is a great indication of how well you manage your money.

How is my credit score calculated?

Think of your credit score as a simple summary of your financial history. If you pay your bills on time, have never defaulted on a loan and are not up to your eyeballs in debt, chances are you have a pretty good score.

Not sure how you score? There’s a free online service called www.getcreditscore.com.au where you can get yours. Check it out.
